About

This has grown into a platform for my art and thoughts, out of its original purpose regarding the perceptions of art and the ability of government or society to control the production and consumption or it.

The original sculpture on our building went through the review process for appropriateness and received unanimous approval from the Landmarks Commission.
I had been working on a sculptural work, that is on the front of the building where I live, a long term project that spans the 2nd to the 5th floor. In 2008, the neighborhood was “landmarked”. Which means any changes to the outside appearance must be approved by the Landmarks Preservation Commission. While I generally approve of their goals, there is a larger question and many smaller ones that come to mind. Personal aesthetics, politics etc. If you look back on the older posts you can see the progress.
