The End of an Era and Moving on to Something New

It was with great nostalgia that I went to the last session at Spring Studio at 64 Spring Street. It was jammed with artists from all over the world and spirits were very high. The basement space has been a constant force in my art and life, not to mention the artistic community here in New York for 24 years. The director, Minerva Durham will continue on in a new space for Spring Studio at 293 Broome St. and it will open as “Minerva’s Interim Studio” on January 3rd. Minerva will continue on, providing inspiration and education to all. The first model I drew there was Shifra and the last was Kuan. There were literally hundreds in between and I am thankful to all of them. Here are a drawing of Shifra(I don’t know the date, probably around 2005) and one of Kuan, the very last drawing at Spring St.
