Figurative Sculpture at NYAA

I’ve started a class in figurative sculpture at the New York Academy of Art. It seems time to get some instruction in the more technical aspects of figurative work then I have had in the past. I’ve been feeling a bit of an amateur lately and wanted some directed improvement. It’s a 10 week class and here is the result after the first class. Like everything, how you consider lights, planes volume and gesture are all important and getting the synthesis of everything is important.
