The Hearing was Postponed

The hearing on our Certificate of Appropriateness has been postponed until Sept. 22, 2009. The Landmarks Preservation Commission handles over 8,000 requests a year for modifications to sites within designated areas. Although some 90% is handled by staff, there still is a very sizable workload. We are now 11 on the schedule instead of 16, so, things may work out in our favor.

Here is a composite of our building and the pieces I’ve completed but not installed yet. You might note the building under construction next door, which apparently had a permit to build 11 stories but has gone up to 14! Not only that but they want to put a 300+ seat restaurant in right next to us. The entire community has opposed that kind of development resolutely. It now is a residential area, despite the 17 liquor licenses the SLA has granted with 500 feet.  It gets very contentious at times with so many agendas to deal with.24 Bond St with the new piece added in PhotoShop
